What it is
The laser heats the pigment inside the follicle while it is in its growth phase. Only about a fifth of follicles are in that phase at any moment, which is the entire reason a course runs across months rather than weeks. Nobody can compress this, and any clinic that says otherwise is selling you sessions.
How it feels
Hot pinpricks with cold air blowing over the skin. Underarms take four minutes. A full back is forty minutes and is genuinely uncomfortable in places.
What it treats
Unwanted hair on the face, underarms, legs, bikini line, back and chest.
Where it leaves you
Skin looks normal. Treated hairs shed over the following one to three weeks and it will look like regrowth — it is not.

- Blonde, red, grey or white hair — there is no pigment for the laser to find, and we will tell you this at the patch test rather than after six paid sessions
- Sun exposure or fake tan within the last four weeks
- Photosensitising medication
- Gold thread lifts or permanent implants in the treatment area
- Active infection or broken skin on the area
If there is not enough time before your date
Not this time. Six sessions across seven months cannot be compressed; the follicle cycle sets the pace, not the clinic. Wax or thread as usual for the day, come in for the patch test now, and we start the course the week after your event.
