What it is
A sterile cartridge of fine needles makes controlled micro-injuries into the dermis. The wound-healing response lays down new collagen, and that collagen lifts the floor of rolling and boxcar scars over the months that follow. It works on the scar's depth, not its colour.
How it feels
Topical anaesthetic for thirty minutes first. After that it is a scratchy, vibrating pressure — most people put it at 3 or 4 out of 10. The cheekbones are the sharp part; the forehead barely registers.
What it treats
Rolling and boxcar acne scars, enlarged pores, fine lines, stretch marks.
Where it leaves you
Skin looks normal. Collagen keeps remodelling for about twelve weeks, so the change in the scars lands well after the course finishes.
Who this is not for
We would rather you read this now than hear it after paying.
This list is not exhaustive and it is not a substitute for the consultation — it is what most commonly means no, or means wait.
Everything we turn away- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- An active cystic breakout or cold sore in the treatment area
- Isotretinoin within the last 6 months
- A history of keloid or hypertrophic scarring
- Anticoagulant medication without a note from your GP
If there is not enough time before your date
Not this time. The last session would still be settling on the day. A medical hydrating facial two days before will do more for how you photograph than a half-finished needling course.

Whether medical microneedling is right for you is decided in the room.
Bring your date if you have one. A consultation is £45, comes off your first treatment, and about one in six ends with us recommending nothing at all.
