What it is
Nanosecond pulses shatter clusters of pigment into fragments small enough for the skin to carry away on its own. It is absorbed by pigment rather than by water, which is what makes it usable across deeper skin tones where other pigment lasers are not.
How it feels
Like a thin elastic band flicked against the skin, repeated. Two to three minutes per area. No anaesthetic needed.
What it treats
Sun spots, freckle-pattern pigmentation, post-inflammatory marks, general dullness.
Where it leaves you
The darkened spots have lifted away. Tone is more even; deeper pigment needs the rest of the course.

- Photosensitising medication — doxycycline, some diuretics, St John's wort
- A tan, real or applied, less than four weeks old
- Active infection or broken skin in the area
- Photosensitive epilepsy
If there is not enough time before your date
Not this time. Treated spots go darker before they lift, and you do not want to be caught mid-way on the day. A hydrating facial instead, and we start the laser after.
